Acrylic Lips by Hubert de Lartigue

French artist Hubert de Lartigue began in packaging design in the 80s before moving to illustration. Most of his work was mainly focused on pin-ups, and he created several sci-fi magazine covers and role playing game illustrations. Since 2003 he started painting in acrylic on canvas in larger formats and ultra hyperreal style. Currently living in Paris his main gallery is in New York at the Bernarducci-Meisel-Gallery.

Check out this interview with Canadian born/London based artist Andrew Salgado at Yatzer. Salgado’s paintings are highly deconstructive – both on a technical and emotional level. His choice of colour combos always stick in my mind – they’re almost synaesthetic. His latest exhibition is at the Dosi Gallery in Korea (20 July /18 August 2012, 202-­2 Kwangan 2 dong, Suyoung-­gu, Busan, Korea). Burning Banks Painter Alex Schaefer Arrested

Strangely enough not for his burning bank paintings, although he was ‘questioned’ about his motives regarding these, it was actually a street chalking offence, which shouldn’t be a damn law in the first place – it’s chalk for ****’s sake. You have to admire the guy for taking on this ridiculous law.
